Polly K. Carl and Mary L. Damico bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 6548 N. Fairfield Ave. in West Rogers Park from Karen Jackson for $393,500 on Sept. 29.

The 1,176-square-foot house was built in 1922.

Ms. Carl is the director of artistic development at the Steppenwolf Theatre Co. She had served as a producing artistic director at the Playwrights' Center of Minneapolis, where she was also on the board of directors.

She holds a Ph.D. in comparative studies in discourse and society from the University of Minnesota.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 693 home sales in West Rogers Park in 2008, with a median sales price of $180,000.
