Collections lawyer grabs home in Highland Park

Medium 32109e47c82d190c650e0168beb5554f Mitchell H. Wexler and Elaine Wexler bought the two-bath home at 3128 University Ave. in Highland Park from First Midwest Bank 5712 Trust for $275,000 on Oct. 15.

First Midwest Bank 5712 Trust foreclosed on the property in April 2008. The 1,334-square-foot house was built in 1955 in the North of Half Day Road/Fort Sheridan neighborhood.

Mr. Wexler is a managing partner at Friedman and Wexler - Chicago. He serves as the special assistant corporation counsel for the City of Chicago. His areas of practice include collections and gaming law.

He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa and his J.D. from Chicago's Kent College of Law.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 243 home sales in Highland Park during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $426,464.
