Northwestern surgeon pays $1.825 million

Northwestern surgeon Dr. Dixon Kaufman and his wife, Katina, bought a six-bedroom, 6.5 bath at 2737 N. Marshfield for $1.825 million from Matthew Wilbur on Aug. 21.

Wilbur, who works with Macon Development in Chicago, paid $512,000 for the land in June 2004. His wife, Denise Wilbur, part of Macon Group real estate, offered the home with a list price of $1.86 million. The home sold after 273 days on the market.

Mr. Kaufman, 49, works in the organ transplant department at Northwestern and is a professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy, M.D. in Medicine and a B.S. from the University of Minnesota.
