The 2,765-square-foot home is in North of Long Grove Road. It was built in 1977 and is located in the Rue Vallee subdivision.

Mr. Alcala is a systems engineer based in Chicago. Previously, he was a design integration test engineer at Alcatel-Lucent, a global telecommunications corporation.

He attended University of Illinois-Chicago.

The Alcalas previously bought a condo at 2057 N. Kedzie Ave. in Logan Square for $349,000 in Aug. 2004.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 34 home sales in Deer Park during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $415,000.
