Energy Department senior scientist selling 4BD in Hinsdale West

Medium 652f5a729bc93d7569d249f6645f3f94 Lee Makowski and Diane R. Makowski have listed for sale a four-bedroom, two-bath home at 445 Adams St. in Hinsdale for $499,000.

The Makowskis paid $479,000 for the property in the West Hinsdale/Stough Park subdivision in Sept. 2000. The 1,794-square-foot house was built in 1929 in Hinsdale West. Steven Rostan of ERA Jensen & Feinstein Realtors LLC is the listing agent for the home.

Mr. Makowski is a senior scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, one of the U.S. Department of Energy's oldest and largest national laboratories for science and engineering research.

He previously a director in the biosciences division. Before joining Argonne, he held various positions, such as senior fellow in the computation institute at the University of Chicago and was a professor in the department of biological sciences and the department of chemistry in Florida State University.

He received an M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in physics from Brown University.
