Aerospace co. program manager buys Center City East 2BD

Medium 143536825de7b03e80aafeabd4eec0ed Barri Gurau bought a two-bedroom, two-bath home at 221 Race St. in Center City East from U.S. Bank National Association and Wells Fargo Bank NA for $273,000 on Oct. 7.

Wells Fargo Bank NA obtained the property in a foreclosure on April 8. The 1,193-square-foot Unit #3 was built in 1900 and part of the 221 Race St. condominium development.

Gurau is a subcontract program manager at Lockheed Martin, a multi-national aerospace manufacturer, global security and advanced technology company.

She previously was a team lead, senior materials engineer for fuel and shield technology, and a member of the engineering leadership development program at Lockheed Martin - Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Schenectady.

She attended Georgia Institute of Technology and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She has a master's degree in engineering and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and American Nuclear Society.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 282 home sales in Center City East in 2008, with a median sales price of $348,500.
