Biology professor sells Germantown 5BD

Medium 4e6a29c4e0fc7acfed0f29f081d57e43 Sally H. Zigmond and Peter Sterling sold a five-bedroom, two-bath home at 429 W. Stafford St. in Germantown to Cornelius V. Simpkins and Tarazoe H. Simpkins for $315,000 on Sept. 8.

The 2,604-square-foot house was built in 1890.

Ms. Zigmond is a biology professor at the University of Pennsylvania where her research is focused on cell motility, chemotaxis and regulation of actin polymerization.

She earned her B.A. in biology at Wellesley College in 1966, her Ph.D. in cell biology at Rockefeller University in 1972, and completed her postdoctoral research in chemotaxis at Yale University Medical School.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 172 home sales in Germantown during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $69,250.
