Dr. Kranzler is a clinical addiction psychiatrist who is a professor of psychiatry and genetics, as well as developmental biology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. In addition, he serves as a research mentor for medical students, psychiatric residents, postdoctoral fellows and faculty in the Departments of Psychiatry and Medicine.
He received his M.D. from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and obtained his M.A. in anthropology from Rutgers University and his B.A. in anthropology from Monmouth University. He completed his residency in psychiatry and his fellowship in alcohol research at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
