Psychiatrist and professor gets Center City West 3BD

Medium 2a06a3e9e80f1ddbf9cbd4df1c5b469b Dr. Henry Kranzler and Leah Zindel bought a three-bedroom, 2.5-bath townhome at 1938 Panama St. in Center City West from James V. Romeo for $1,137,500 on Dec. 1.

Romeo paid $620,000 for the property in Oct. 2002. The 2,340-square-foot townhouse was built in 1970 in the Rittenhouse-Fitler Historic District.

Dr. Kranzler is a clinical addiction psychiatrist who is a professor of psychiatry and genetics, as well as developmental biology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He is also an associate scientific director of the Alcohol Research Center at the same university. In addition, he serves as a research mentor for medical students, psychiatric residents, postdoctoral fellows and faculty in the Departments of Psychiatry and Medicine.

He received his M.D. from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and obtained his M.A. in anthropology from Rutgers University and his B.A. in anthropology from Monmouth University. He completed his residency in psychiatry and his fellowship in alcohol research at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
