Scientist and consultant settle in Queens

Istvan Sugar, Suchitra Sugar and Zoltan Sugar bought a home at 85-62 151st St. in Queens from Marina Topsis for $545,000 on Dec. 2.

The 1,768-square-foot house was built in 1935 in Briarwood/Jamaica Hill.

Dr. Istvan Sugar is an associate scientist at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

He completed his Ph.D. in theoretical physics, biophysics from Eotvos Lorand Tudomanyegyetem.

Suchitra Sugar is a consultant in climate change and environmental education at UNICEF. Previously, she was a research assistant at the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

She holds an M.S. in natural resources from Cornell University and a B.A. in ecology from Dartmouth College.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 9,014 home sales in Queens during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $415,000.
