Richard L. Trate bought a three-bedroom, 1.5-bath home at 114 E. Washington St. in Chagrin Falls from Cindy E. and Robert A. Stephenson for $420,000 on Oct. 8.

The 2,340-square-foot house was built in 1875 in the neighborhood of Chagrin Falls South.

Trate is vice president of sales and marketing at Brush Wellman, a Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based supplier of high-performance copper, nickel and beryllium alloys.

He previously was business manager at Carpenter Technology from 2003 to 2006.

He received a business degree from the University of Michigan in 1978.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 75 home sales in Chagrin Falls in 2008, with a median sales price of $257,000.
