Shu G. Chen and Wen Wang bought a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 2257 Orchard Way in Beachwood from Jo Ellyn Berk Kerzner for $568,500 on Oct. 9.

The 4,917-square-foot house was built in 1990 at Richmond Acres in the neighborhood of Beachwood North.

Mr. Chen is associate professor in the Department of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University. He also is an associate director of the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center.

He joined Case as a research associate and later moved on to become instructor and then assistant professor.

He received his Ph.D. in biochemical pharmacology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1993.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 126 home sales in Beachwood in the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $220,500.
