Dr. Matthew Shores and his wife, Kathryn, bought a four-bedroom, three-bath home at 437 E. Lamar Road in Alhambra from Mary Ann Butler for $430,000 on Oct. 19.

The 2,228-square-foot house was built in 1954.

Dr. Shores is a family practitioner with Arizona State University. He has also worked with the school's athletics department. Prior to attending the University of Arizona College of Medicine, he taught high school biology for a year at Greenway High School.

He graduated from Grand Canyon University, where also finished his undergraduate studies. He completed his residency at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 2,457 home sales in Alhambra during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $51,750.
