Former Duke University business dean pockets $2.525M in Lincoln Square

Medium b68b37ac834fd03e00a54dd1ec7721ff Douglas T. Breeden and Josie C. Breeden sold the three-bedroom, three-bath Unit #8FG at 80 Central Park West in Lincoln Square to Francoise Pourcel for $2.525 million on Sept. 2.

The Breedens paid $2.86 million for the property in Oct. 2006.

Dr. Breeden is the former dean of the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, N.C. He stepped down from that position in 2007 to return to his teaching duties at the school.

He's also served on the faculty at the University of Chicago, Stanford and the University of North Carolina.

He also serves as the chairman emeritus and co-founder of Smith Breeden Associates and as chairman and principal owner of Community First Financial Group. He holds a Ph.D. in finance from Stanford and a B.S. from M.I.T.

Mrs. Breeden serves as the founding director of Square One Financial, Inc. and Square 1 Bank in Durham, N.C. She also serves as the co-founder and vice president of Wyandotte Community Corporation in Leavenworth, Ind., and executive vice president of the Breeden Family Foundation in Chapel Hill, N.C. She received her B.A. and M.A. in studio art from San Jose State.

There are 172 units in the 24-story building at 80 Central Park West. It was built in 1968.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 237 condo sales in Lincoln Square in 2008, with a median sales price of $1.125 million.
