Elementary school teacher buys in Wedgewood

Medium 321dda6d0515f67639d39813c0b1dc0a Niamh M. O'connell bought a four-bedroom, 1.5-bath at 9035 Sand Point Way N.E. in Wedgewood from Andre Espaillat and Ed Fortuno for $380,000 on Sept. 15.

Espaillat paid $415,000 for the property in Nov. 2005. The 1,900-square-foot home was built in 1959 in the Matthews J G subdivision.

O'connell is a member of the faculty of Bertschi School in Seattle.

She previously taught a third grade classroom in North Carolina. Prior to moving to the U.S. in 2004, she taught pre-school in Australia and Cork, Ireland.

She has a B.A. from Mary Immaculate College in Cork, Ireland and an M.A. in educational leadership from Argosy University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 97 sales in Wedgewood in 2008, with median sales price of $478,675.
