Lawyer spends $1.047M for Central District 5BD

Darryl S. Vhugen and Janet C. Vhugen bought a five-bedroom, two-bath home at 2348 42nd Ave. E. in Seattle's Central District from Burke F. Norton for $1.047 million on Oct. 9.

The 3,050-square-foot house was built in 2006 in the Loch-Gilvra subdivision.

Mr. Vhugen is a state director at Rural Development Institute, a non-profit organization of attorneys.

He previously was in private practice as an international and domestic business lawyer before joining RDI.

He completed a bachelor's degree in economics at Lewis & Clark College in Portland and received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle.

Norton is an executive vice president, general counsel and secretary at Expedia Inc.

He was a partner at the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati P.C. prior to Expedia.

He received his J.D. from the University of California - Boalt Hall School of Law in Berkeley.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 334 home sales in Seattle's Central District during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $385,000.
