Development VP buys 3BD in Chevy Chase

Medium dad774eb61640af55ce25b92ae3e9569 Noel J. Salinger and Leanne Sawyers bought a three-bedroom, 2.5 bath home at 5221 Chevy Chase Parkway N.W. in Chevy Chase from Kelly David Welch and Katherine S. Yonkers for $745,000.

The 1,440-square-foot house was built in 1938.

Mr. Salinger is associate vice president of development at George Washington Medical Center. He previously served as associate vice president of development and alumni relations at the University of Chicago.

Before he joined the University of Chicago in 1981, he led development campaigns at the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation in New York and the American Bar Association in Chicago.

He earned his B.A. from Syracuse University and a master's in anthropology from the University of Chicago.

Ms. Sawyers is a research associate at CSI.

She was an associate director at the University of Chicago Mathematics Project. She also worked as an educational writer and video producer.

She obtained a B.A. in Japanese Literature and M.A. in Far Eastern Languages and Civilization from the University of Chicago.

Welch and Yonkers are acupuncturists, who got their training at Bastry University and in China.

They bought a 4BD in Forest Hills.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 97 home sales in Chevy Chase in 2008, with median sales price of $801,562.
