Design firm exec buys 3BD in Washington

Medium d5191cc2d1fac0f0f1a7e03bc4c170dd Beth C. Gottschling and George F. Huber bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 711 Elder St. N.W. in Washington from Earl Bradley Cownover and Andrea Leigh Matzke for $520,000 on Aug. 31.

Cownover and Matzke paid $367,000 for the property in April 2004. The 1,319-square-foot house was built in 1929 in the Brightwood neighborhood.

Gottschling is a director for operations at Free Range Studios, a full-service advertising, movie production studio and design firm.

Matzke is an environmental scientist at U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 4,143 home sales in Washington in 2008, with a median sales price of $375,000.
