Commissioner candidate, D.C. mayoral staffer settle in Hawthorne

Medium 8fdb06300f466710eb9385a8ef4a0486 Everett D. Lott and Gretchen E. Greiner-Lott bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 3053 Chestnut St. N.W. in Washington from Katherine Crowley Blot and William James Blot for $731,375 on Sept. 23.

The Blots paid $780,000 for the property in April 2006. The 1,984-square-foot house was built in 1951 in the Hawthorne neighborhood.

Mr. Lott has been running for the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner slot 4D/05.

He received his B.A. in political science and his M.A. in public administration from Texas Tech University. He also holds a certification in public management from George Washington University and senior executives program in state and local government from Harvard University.

Ms. Greiner-Lott has been a deputy director of Mayor's Office of Partnerships and Grant Services for the District of Columbia.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 4,155 home sales in Washington in 2008, with a median sales price of $375,000.
