Charitable trust exec spends $1.38M in Petworth

Medium d1110e0d761bdd7f01ec4046eb221f29 Joshua S. Reichert and Silvia A. Reichert bought a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 412 Delafield Place N.W. in Petworth from Carter W. Doswell for $1.38 million on Aug. 6.

The 960-square-foot house was built in 1925.

Mr. Reichert is managing director of the Pew Environment Group at The Pew Charitable Trusts, which has offices in Philadelphia and Washington D.C.

Before he joined Pew in 1990, he worked for both governmental and non-governmental organizations, including serving as executive director of the National Security Archive in D.C. and as special assistant to the chairman of the sub-committee on foreign appropriations for the U.S. House of Representatives.

He holds a bachelor's degree in applied behavioral sciences from the University of California - Davis and a master's degree and Ph.D. in social anthropology from Princeton University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 223 home sales in Petworth during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $285,000.
