Merens is a management information and system administrator at the Corporation for National and Community Service, an agency of the U.S. government created in 1993.

She previously was the agency's grants management specialist.

She studied at the University of Texas at Austin.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 44,106 condo sales in Washington, D.C. during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $310,000.
