Barry and V. Michelle Granger bought an eight-bedroom, 5.5-bath home at 6112 Landon Lane in Bethesda from Ellen Lima and Albertino Silveira for $1,711,100 on Oct. 13.

Lima and Silveira paid $700,000 for the property in Dec. 2007. The 4,334-square-foot house was built in 2008 in the Bethesda South of Wilson Lane neighborhood.

Mr. Granger is the vice president of government marketing and government affairs at DuPont. He has held various key positions in manufacturing and business management since joining the company in 1987. Prior to joining DuPont, he worked with the Dow Chemical Co. in Texas.

He earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and his master's degree in business administration from Indiana University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 769 home sales in Bethesda during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $719,000.
