Mr. Lifshitz is an associate at Booz Allen Hamilton, a strategy and technology consultancy company. He is also a board member at Rational Games, also a management consultancy company. He previously was a director at CARE International, a senior program officer/assistant country director at Africare, a managing consultant at WL Consulting and a Peace Corps volunteer.

He received his economics degree from the University of California-Berkeley and his master's in public health from Boston University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 888 home sales in Bethesda during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $715,000.
