Estate of school founder sells Chevy Chase 5BD

Medium 8a2fd99fa46743e226f0e670bd3f6dec Robert H. Shorb and the estate of Katherine M. Shorb sold a five-bedroom, four-bath home at 6904 Ridgewood Ave. in Chevy Chase to Shila B. Blum and Frederick H. Morse for $1.295 million on Dec. 18.

The 3,467-square-foot house was built in 1980 in the Chevy Chase South of E. West Highway neighborhood.

Ms. Shorb was one of the founders of the Concord Hill School, which was established in 1965. She also taught kindergarten and English as a second language and became part of the governing board at the school.

She was a graduate of Sidwell Friends School and Vassar College. She earned her master's in special education from the University of Maryland. She died in June 2007.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 191 home sales in Chevy Chase during the past 12 months, with a median price of $907,500.
