Lester and Marcia Kanis sold a five-bedroom, 4.5-bath home at 12904 Glen Road in Travilah to Leslie and Andrew Kern for $1.2 million on Oct. 5.

The Kanis' paid $940,000 for the property in May 2001. The 5,800-square-foot house was built in 2000 in the Travilah West of Piney Meetinghouse Road neighborhood.

Mr. Kanis is a principal at the Reznick Group, a certified public accounting firm.

He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and management information systems from Benjamin Franklin University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 80 home sales in Travilah during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $1,227,500.
