Donald C. and Rachel W. Unser bought a six-bedroom, five-bath home at 334 Scudder Ave. in Northport from Thomas Williams and Lynne Christiansen for $1.16 million on Sept. 16.

Williams and Christiansen paid almost $1.5 million for the property in March 2007. The 5,155-square-foot house was built in 2006 in the Northport Inland neighborhood.

Mr. Unser is retail business group president at The NPD Group, leading provider of comprehensive and reliable consumer and retail information for an extensive range of industries.

Previously, he held various positions for 20 years at Hewlett-Packard. Most recently, he was the firm's vice president of Consumer Market Sales.

He earned his B.S. degree in business and finance from the University of Central Florida and his Masters in business from the University of Tampa's John H. Sykes College of Business.

There were 39 home sales in Northport in 2008, with a median sales price of $597,500.
