Bryce W. Rhodes, Gary Nicholas Schaar and Regan Schaar sold the 10-bedroom, six-bath home at 306 Fourth St. in Hermosa Beach to John Zelasko for $2.2 million on Sept. 15.

Rhodes and the Schaars acquired the property for $2.4 million in Sept. 2007. The 4,236-square-foot house was built in 1972 in West Hermosa Beach.

Rhodes has served as a board member with the PYR Energy Corp., a Denver oil and gas exploration company. He's also worked with Whittier Energy.

He earned his bachelor's from the University of California-Santa Cruz and his master's from Stanford University.

Gary Schaar is the president of Ostaar Real Estate Services, Inc., which was established in Irvine in 1977. He earned his bachelor's in business administration from the University of Southern California School of Business.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 121 home sales in Hermosa Beach during the past 12 months, with a median price of $1.0625 million.
