Rabbit rescue shelter founders buy 2BD in Long Beach

Medium 330a9aae21f464d97b92f6b248d65381 Samuel Andrew Mathis and his wife, Natalie, bought a two-bedroom, one-bath home at 55 Quincy Ave. in Long Beach from James and Sharron M. Liston for $540,000 on Dec. 7.

The 1,217-square-foot house in Belmont Heights was built in 1940.

Mr. and Ms. Mathis are the founders of Rabbit Rescue, Inc., a Paramount-based non-profit shelter that rescues, rehabilitates and provides placement for abandoned rabbits.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 3,589 home sales in Long Beach during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $300,000.
