Q: For a seller, how important is it to be flexible on the price of a home?

A: In Houston’s market, it’s more important to be well-informed than to be flexible. Your listing agent can help you find out the price of comparable sales in the area and consider how your home stacks up to the competition.
In Houston, especially in the Inner Loop, houses are selling quickly if they are priced correctly. It’s also good to remember that there’s a common sense relationship between the amount of time a home sits on the market and what happens in the negotiation process. Buyers won’t want to be outbid, so they’ll make an offer quickly if they think the price of a home is reasonable.
