The picture-perfect weather helped draw large crowds to Aliana’s first annual Home & Garden Show, which took place on March 16 and 17. Located in Aliana’s Model Home Village, the Home & Garden Show featured a variety of instructional events by popular chefs, as well as well-known home and gardening experts.

On Saturday, March 16, chef Hosea Rosenberg, winner of Season 5 of “Top Chef,” wowed the crowd with his cooking demonstration, preparing a delicious smoked trout salad and sharing his easy-to-prepare recipe with the audience. He capped off his demonstration by offering all who attended an opportunity to sample his mouth-watering creation.

The next day, chef Louis Cressy with Mélange Catering treated attendees to his cooking demonstration with a tasting of his delectable gumbo.

Also on Sunday, popular gardening expert Randy Lemmon provided his legions of loyal “Lemmonhead” fans with helpful gardening advice, such as how to choose the best fertilizer and tips on proper plant care.

On both Saturday and Sunday, organization guru Lisa Giesler and award-winning designer Jeannie Chandler with Millennium Designs, Inc. gave informative presentations.

“We were thrilled at the turnout for the show,” said Linda Kilgore, marketing director for Aliana Development Company, the developer of Aliana. “The number of homeowners in Aliana has grown rapidly over the past several years and we (ADC) wanted to offer them, as well as those from outside the community, an informative, yet fun, event that showcased the home and garden. Our excellent roster of home and garden experts as well as the chefs really helped make the event a success.”

Through Sunday, guests visiting Aliana’s Model Home Village can register in each of the model homes for one of 13 individual Home & Garden Gift Packages valued at $1,500. Aliana will also hold a special drawing for a grand-prize gift package valued at $5,000 for guests who visit all 13-model homes.
