Dr. Jagajan Karmacharya bought a two-bedroom, two-bath condo at 405 N. Hibiscus Dr. in Miami Beach from Brendan Fitzgerald for $525,000 on Sept. 28.

Mr. Fitzgerald paid $634,500 for the 1,220-square-foot property in Oct. 2004. Unit #210 is part of the Island Club of South Beach development, which was built in 1960 in the Venetian Islands neighborhood.

Dr. Karmacharya is a practicing surgeon at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Hospital. He also serves as an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Miami.

He holds a medical degree in surgery from the University of Calcutta Medical College (1990). He completed residencies at the University of Pennsylvania.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 1,823 home sales in Miami Beach in 2008, with a median sales price of $273,000.
