Pettinella is the president, chief executive officer and director at Home Properties Inc., a real estate investment trust. Prior to Home Properties, he served as president of Charter One Bank of New York and executive vice president of Charter One Financial Inc. He has also served in several managerial positions at Rochester Community Savings Bank.

He is a graduate of the State University of New York-Geneseo and holds an M.B.A. in finance from Syracuse University.
