Dr. Jorge S. Camacho and Mirtha Camacho bought a two-bath home at 1505 N. Atlantic Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale from Jose Fernando Sigui for $800,000 on Sept. 15.

Sigui acquired the property for $1.75 million in June 2005. The 1,128-square-foot house in the Barrier Island neighborhood was built in 1947.

Dr. Camacho is an ophthalmologist at Westside Regional Medical Center. He is also affiliated with Plantation General Hospital and Broward Health.

He earned his M.D. from the University Of Libertad in Peru. He completed his residency at Truman Medical Center-West.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 4,331 home sales in Fort Lauderdale in 2008, with a median price of $327,000.
