Kelley and Matthew Vail bought a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 1576 Surrey Dr. in Wheaton from Laura A. Dowdle for $385,000 on July 28.

The 2,322-square-foot house, which was built in 1968, is in the Wheaton Southwest neighborhood.

Mr. Vail serves as a program manager for high schools and middle schools at Best Buddies International, a a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. He is also a webmaster for the NW Automotive Trades Association.

Prior to this, he worked as a research assistant at Sarah Lawrence College, as a classroom assistant at America Reads and as an intern at Chicago Public Library and Multnomah County Library.

He graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a degree in Spanish and LGBT studies.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 466 sales in Wheaton in 2008, with a median price of $295,000.
