Artist, real estate co. president buy in Highland Park

Medium 4374b947ef04fd1b4ccf14d09f820d7f Yelena and Alfred Klairmont bought a 4,550-square-foot home at 2233 Egandale Road in Highland Park from Norman M. Gold, Marvin Isenstein, Sherwin Zimmerman and Sandra Isenstein for $2,442,087 on June 16.

The home, which was built in 1956, is in the Highland Park East neighborhood.

Ms. Klairmont is a visual artist based in Highland Park. Her paintings have been exhibited at the College of Lake County, 4Art Gallery, Chicago Art Open, Illinois State Gallery, Gallery 60035 and the Highland Park Public Library.

She was trained at the American Academy of Art. She also studied art at the University of Toronto and DePaul University.

Mr. Klairmont is president of Imperial Realty Company, a Chicago-based family-owned commercial real estate company. He joined the company in 1978. He also is chairman of the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation Mentor Program.

He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Gold is a senior counsel with the Chicago office of the law firm Perkins Coie LLP. The areas of his practice include real estate, business and corporate finance.

He previously was with the law firm Wildman Harrold Allen & Dixon in Chicago. Prior to that, he was director of the Illinois Tollway Authority. He was also a managing partner with the law firm Altheimer & Gray in Chicago.

He received a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

There were 276 sales in Highland Park in 2008, with a median sales price of $451,250.
