There were 44 foreclosures in the South Suburbs during the week of Oct. 12-19, according to BlockShopper.com.

Markham recorded the highest number of foreclosures for the week with four. Calumet, Hazel Crest and Blue Island all posted three.

Included in the foreclosures was a 1,555-square-foot home at 2809 173rd St. in Hazel Crest. The 2.5-bath property last sold for $125,000 in April 2007 and is currently offered for sale for $56,900.

Other notable foreclosures include the one-story, 1,053-square-foot home at 16519 California Ave. in Markham. Built in 1960, the home last sold for $140,000 in June 2007.

Year-to-date, there have been 2,080 foreclosures in the South Suburbs.
