J. Christopher Burch bought the six-bedroom, eight-bath home at 232 First Neck Lane in Southampton from Ralph Cioffi and Phyllis Cioffi for $8.55 million on Aug. 11.

The Cioffis acquired the property for $10.7 million in Feb. 2007. The 4,682-square-foot house was built in 1994 in the Southampton West neighborhood.

Burch has been the owner of J. Christopher Capital LLC, a company that engages in venture capital investments.

He previously was the chief executive officer of JB Christopher, which offers finished building materials. He also has been with The Related Cos. L.P., a condominium developer.

He attended Ithaca College.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 161 home sales in Southampton in 2008, with a median sales price of $1.585 million.
