Dentist, orthodintist duo buys in Morningside Heights

Dr. Scott Danoff and Dr. Laura Danoff bought a one-bedroom, one bath condo at 514 Cathedral Parkway in Morningside Heights from Charles Cermele and Christopher G. Moore for $629,000 on July 24.

Cermele and Moore paid $510,000 for Unit #5B in March 2006. It's located in a condominium high-rise at the corner of West 110th Street.

Dr. Scott Danoff is a dentist specializing in prosthodontics with a private practice in Little Neck. His areas of expertise include reconstructive, cosmetic, restorative and implant work. He has been in the practice for more than 24 years.

He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Laura Danoff is an orthodontist who has her own private practice in Great Neck.

Cermele is a cabaret performer and singer. He previously worked as an actor in Boston before he moved to New York's Lower East Side, where he began singing standard pop and jazz tunes in different nightclubs. He appeared in the touring production of Guys and Dolls for two years.

In 1998, he was named Outstanding Male Vocalist by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs. He attended Tufts University in Medford, Mass.

The building at 514 Cathedral Parkway has 48 units on 12 floors. Its alternate address is 514 W. 110th St.

Condo sales in Morningside Heights dropped 12 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price is down from $650,000 in 2006 to $640,000 in 2007.
