Psychotherapist, construction partner settle in 4BD

Medium 5abca94d3c83426824cd1152a3a5aecb Cindy S. Perkiss and Steven J. Perkiss bought a four-bedroom, one-bath home at 623 Glen Echo Road in West Mount Airy from Timothy M. Johnson and Jennifer E. Groeber for $330,000 on July 2.

Johnson and Groeber paid $305,000 for the property in Aug. 2004. The 1,800-square-foot house was built in 1925.

Ms. Perkiss is a general psychotherapy practitioner specializing in trauma, grief and loss, chronic and serious illness, adult ADD, and depression and anxiety. She is a licensed clinical social worker and family therapist who has practiced in Philadelphia.

She has been a coordinator of environmental programs for the Philadelphia Department of Recreation and has worked with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

She received her B.A. in psychology at Temple University and her master of social sciences degree at Bryn Mawr College. She also completed her associate of science degree in horticulture at Temple University.

Mr. Perkiss is a partner at Patterson and Perkiss Construction, a general contracting firm in Wyndmoor, Penn.

There were 124 home sales in the West Mount Airy in 2008, with a median sales price of $234,750.
