Matthew P. Krissel and Kara L. Krissel bought a 2,111-square-foot home at 8340 Millman St. in Chestnut Hill from Kathleen M. Burke for $600,000 on July 3.

Ms. Burke and John Cieslinski bought the property for $416,000 in Oct. 2004.

Mr. Krissel is an associate at Kieran Timberlake Associates, an architectural firm in Philadelphia that he joined in 2003. He also runs his own design studio, Krissel Studio.

He previously was a staff architect at Kohn Pederson Fox in New York from 1999 to 2002. He has also taught at the University of Pennsylvania School of Design.

He received an associate's degree in applied sciences of architectural engineering in 1995 from Alfred State College and a bachelor's degree in architecture studies in 1997 from the University of Buffalo. He obtained his master's degree in architecture in 2005 from the University of Pennsylvania.

There were 87 home sales in Chestnut Hill in 2008, with a median sales price of $425,000.
