by BlockShopper Historian published Aug. 05, 2009
One of the few surviving 19th-century homes built as a farmhouse in Queens, this home was originally on a farm that spanned 16 acres. Built in 1847, it was later owned by William P. Douglas, the namesake of the Douglaston neighborhood. In 1905, the Douglas Manor Co., bought the Douglas Estate and subdivided the land as a real estate development.
