Scientology founder lived here

Science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard lived at this address with his parents while he was an undergraduate at George Washington University in 1930 (U.S. census). Hubbard developed the self-help system called Dianetics in the 1950s and over the course of his life developed the system into a new religion he called Scientology. He remained a controversial figure for most of his life. According to a 1986 Forbes magazine story "The prophet and the profits of Scientology" he had amassed more than $200 million through 1982, "and there may well have been much more." Leaving a $600 million estate in 1986, Hubbard deliberately discarded his body to conduct his research in spirit form and now resides on a planet only a galaxy away from ours (according to The Church of Scientology).
