One of the first modern lobbyists and presidential advisor lived here

Attorney Thomas "Tommy the Cork" Corcoran lived in this house during the 1930's. He was a member of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Brain Trust" and organized various administrative agencies for "New Deal" programs. Corcoran was also one of the first modern lobbyists and a Washington power broker. He was a close friend and advisor to President Lyndon B. Johnson. Corcoran passed away in 1981.
