Diplomat Theodore Achilles owned this house in 1967. In 1932 he was U.S. Vice Counsel in Havana, Cuba. Achilles took an active role in the North Atlantic Pact negotiations, which led to the creation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He was U.S. Ambassador to Peru from 1956 to 1960. Achilles passed away in 1986.
