Archivist Wayne Grover owned this house in 1967. He joined the National Archives in 1935 and became the third Archivist of the United States in 1948. Grover served 17 years as Archivist of the United States, the longest tenure in the history of the National Archives. He oversaw the development of the national network of records centers and presidential libraries that serve as the government's record manager. Grover passed away in 1970.
