Pioneering Boy Scouts of America leader owned this house

Boy Scouts of America area director (East Texas), Ulysses Hammond, owned this house when he passed away in 1995. He was one of the first African-Americans to serve as an area director for the Boy Scouts of America. Hammond was an area director from 1946 to 1971.
