Former Army general counsel, John G. Adams, owned this house when he passed away in 2003. During Senator (WISC) Joseph McCarthy's 1950s hunt for communists in the Army, Adams was his chief nemesis and chief legal adviser to Army Secretary Robert T. Stevens.
