Author, naturalist, and founder of Wildflower Day owned this house

Founder of Wild Flower Day in the U.S., Royal Dixon, owned this house. He was a naturalist and author. Dixon's books include "The Human Side of Plants" and "The Human Side of Animals." His involvement in the Americanization movement of the 1910s and 1920s as vice president of The League of Foreign Born Citizens resulted in his writing "Americanization." The Americanization movement's goal was to assimilate immigrants through programs such as civics and English classes. Dixon passed away in 1962.
