Colonel (USAF) Ellison Onizuka owned this house when he passed away in 1986. He was one of seven crew members to lose their lives when the Space Shuttle Challenger broke-up over the Atlantic Ocean 73 seconds after launch in 1986. Onizuka was the first Asian American in space and was Mission Specialist for the ill-fated mission.
