Newsweek editor who doubled circulation lived in this building

Journalist, Osborne Elliott, lived in this building in 1967. He is credited with transforming Newsweek magazine into a competitive rival with the standard bearer, Time magazine. Elliott was editor of Newsweek from 1961 to 1976. During this time Newsweek's circulation increased to three million issues, double the previous high. Elliott was Dean of the Columbia School of Journalism from 1978 to 1986. He passed away in 2008.
