"The Father of Modern Philadelphia," and actor Kevin Bacon owned this house

City planner Edmund Bacon owned this house in the 1960's. His designs would form the landscape of post-World War II Philadelphia. In 1964 Bacon was featured on the cover of Time magazine and in 1965 Life magazine devoted a major section of its issue on urban America to Bacon's work. He wrote the still relevant and important urban design text "Design of Cities" in 1967 while living in this house. Edmund Bacon is the father of actor Kevin Bacon. He passed away in 2005.
